I finished my fingerless mittens! I call them ‘Elemental Mitts’ (aka Ele-Mitts). (A woman from my knitting group came up with that and said I could use it! ) They are mine, all mine and I love them! My first completed project using my own handspun! I still have some yarn left to make something matchy-matchy so stay tuned for that. I’m still deciding what to make. ttfn!

I been a bit under the weather for the past two and half weeks and either didn’t feel like or couldn’t knit so progress on the mittens have been a bit slow…having only been able to start knitting again on January 14th… but I finally finished the outer shell of one mitten (minus the thumb) and finally started the 2nd one. The gauge on the first one is a bit wonky because I couldn’t figure out a comfortable way to[Read more]

First … the bad news: My spinning. That’s the bad news for me these days. I’m spinning everyday but it sometimes it seems like I’m never going to finish my HHHH project. I am spinning everyday but it doesn’t seem like I will ever reach the end. I am plying and very pleased with the result. But I am regretting using my new spindle for this project. I feel like it makes spinning harder than it should be. It wobbles…[Read more]

Yes! I have found my knitting mojo and have been knitting up a storm. I need to finish a pair of fingerless mittens before the end of September. I have been trying to knit a pair of these for several months, but have not been satisfied with the results. For the first pair, I used worsted weight and that just wasn’t right, especially since these are for someone who lives in moderate climate all year long. I’m currently on my[Read more]

Remember these? I made ‘em in Feb 07. The first thing I kinda made up myself. They’re very basic. The one thing I would change is that I would go down a needle size for the ribbing. I didn’t know about that then and I think that would make a difference in how they fit. Any I wore them the other day (on a day that I ironically forget my regular gloves) and I love them. And I’m talking fingerless[Read more]
