Ten on Tuesday

Ten things goin’ on at Saffron Knits..

  1. Exercise & weight loss – so far so good. Participating in ‘The Biggest Loser’ Incentive at work is very motivating.
  2. Jillian Michael’s exercise videos are designed to kill you. If they don’t… You’ll get stonger.
  3. Planning to get guitar fixed and learn to play.
  4. A college professor gave me my guitar.
  5. Knitting some yoga socks from handspun. It’s going very slow due to some distrations.
  6. Distractions = new iPod Touch. I’m obsessed.
  7. Have 1,376 songs on my iPod. Have become obsessed with singer/songwriter Melissa Ferrick. Her music/songs take up about 1/4 of the songs on my iPod.
  8. I have listened to Melissa Ferrick’s cover of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’ over and over and over and over and … well… you get the point. You can hear it on Melissa Ferrick’s website.
  9. Writing every day. Haven’t written anything (not counting this blog) for three years – finally have the desire to do so.
  10. Spinning ten minutes a day. Yay for spinning! Bought some lovely periwinkle fiber from Spincerely Yours. (You can see it HERE) I LOVE IT!

Hope 2011 is treating you well! :)

Here’s another fave by Melissa Ferrick – “To Let You See Me”

what are the colors of your rainbow?

Happy Friday!!! :D

You didn’t think I’d go this whole month without a meme or two or three, did you? :) Actually, I found this one a while ago and meant to do it but never got the chance. What better time than now? :D

I saw this on Knitwith Homespun’s blog and given my love of rainbows, it seemed like fun.

Your rainbow is shaded violet.

What this says about you: You are a creative person. You appreciate beauty and craftsmanship. You are patient and will keep trying to understand something until you’ve mastered it.

Find the colors of your rainbow at spacefem.com.

That definitely sounds like me. What colors are in YOUR rainbow? :)

I wanted to post sooner…

…but I’ve been feeling poorly this week and kept telling myself that I’d post ‘tomorrow’. At this rate I’ll never post, so here I am. :) and I had a whole lot I wanted to say… now let’s see if I can remember any of it.

  1. I saw something cool today (and it was a very chilly day), I saw a woman knitting in public. Honestly, except on an airplane, I’d never seen it before. She had metal needles and was knitting with orange yarn. I couldn’t tell what she was knitting… but it was cool to see.
  2. I bought ‘More Sensational Socks’ today! I love love love it! I can’t wait to try some of the stitch patterns. Nuthin’ like a new book to inspire you to to finish a current project so you can start a new one…and the current project I’m speaking of is, of course, the Amethyst Socks. I’m almost done with Sock 1, I’m at the ribbing and I really want to cast on for the next sock very soon to avoid SSS. And if I can help it, I’ll not do one sock at a time again. It seems to take much longer and I don’t like that. I’ll post pictures of the sock as soon as it is finished!
  3. tiennie tagged me with a meme! … so here goes:
  • Each person tagged gives 7 random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs the 7 facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and to read your blog.
  • I chose mostly knitterly facts:
    1. This is my first meme!
    2. April 22nd was my 1st Blogiversary and I totally forgot about it.
    3. I really want some sock blockers from here. I love the hearts ones. :)
    4. I prefer knitting socks, toe-up and hats, top down
    5. I love knitting more than I hate math … which is why I am still knitting.
    6. I read lots of knitting blogs, but the ones on my side bar are the ones that have truly inspired me in some way
    7. A year ago, I did not have a knit stash. I bought my first skein handdyed wool from David T. Daniels (The ‘T’ stands for ‘The Enabler’ ;) ) and the rest is history.
  • Most of the people who I would have tagged have all ready been tagged … so I tag Marce.

I’m sure I had more to say, but I cannot remember now. Enjoy the rest your day! :)
